If you hear a high-pitched Little Miss Sunshine-level shrieking on the wind, I'll try to stop. The Lego BTS set has been announced. But, there are no assurances.
All seven of the K-pop supergroup's members can be seen relaxing on the set of their huge single's music video, which broke YouTube's 24-hour view record with more than 100 million views in a single day in 2020, in the 749-piece "Dynamite" set. In terms of YouTube videos, it also broke the previous record for most comments.
The kit, created by two 20-year-old fans, comes with incredibly adorable Lego replicas of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook dressed as they did in the music video. I can't stop admiring V's adorable waistcoat ensemble. These are dispersed amid small, assemble-able groups of pastel-hued, '70s-style establishments, such as the iconic discothèque with its large DISCO sign, ice cream truck, record store, and vintage burger and doughnut shop. A brief BTS stage is also included.
Send Jungkook to raise that doughnut toast, place a turquoise-haired RM in a record shop filled with Lego "Dynamite" vinyls, or let V dance next to the ice cream truck.
Only a few days ago, Lego made a Twitter teaser about a BTS release. Neither their label BigHit nor their management company HYBE produced the BTS set. It's a component of the Lego Ideas site, where anybody can post their own set designs and others can vote on whether or not they should be produced. On the "Dynamite" set, Josh, a 20-year-old designer from Indiana, and Jacob, a 21-year-old BTS supporter from New York, worked together. Lego approved their concept after it attracted 10,000 views on the Ideas website.
According to a Lego news release, "Josh did the building and design work, and being a great BTS fan, I told him what needed to be in it and what elements were most important."
Josh said in a statement that "Jacob had BTS knowledge, and he was able to lead my construction in the ideal way." I repeatedly saw the music video in an effort to capture its mood with Legos.
Beginning in early March 2023, the BTS "Dynamite" Lego set will be available for US$99.99 (£89.99 / €99.99) on the Lego website and in brick-and-mortar stores.
Here is the video because the song is already ingrained in your memory.
